So Much Easier Than Digging Footers

I live in Maine where the frostline is 4 feet down. Pouring concrete footers is such a PIA, and I've still had them heave. I put up a picket fence 2 years ago using these. They've been installed through 2 winters now and haven't heaved. Putting up another fence so I'm using them again! Pre-drilling the ground with a garden auger drill bit makes installing them easier. :)

THE RIGHT SIZE -3.5" X 3.5" - GREAT PRICE

THESE ARE MADE FOR A STANDARD 4X4 POST (3.5"X3.5"). They are only 24" deep but they are pretty sturdy. Easy to install. My stand alone mail box is firm but can shift if pushed from the top. I think it will be fine behind the fence but may not stand firm out in the open. The price was great but I had to buy 4 of them. I have plans for the other 3 already! At this price, I might buy 4 more.
