Before cleaning: Test a hidden section of carpet for colorfastness. Directions for best results: 1. Vacuum thoroughly to remove loose dirt. 2. Shake bottle well before using. 3. Pre-treat tough stains with Resolve Urine Destroyer. 4. For home-owned and rental machines recommended use is 2.3 FL. OZ. of Resolve Urine Destroyer (2x) per gallon of hot tap water. Note: the water chamber in many leading machines holds one gallon of water. 5. Deep clean carpet and upholstery following machine user's guide. 6 Allow carpet to dry thoroughly before using area. Product should be used in a well-ventilated room. Children and pets should be kept out of the room and off the carpet while wet to touch. Children and pets should be kept off the carpet for 2 hours after it is dry to touch.

I was ready to buy new carpet in my family room because of the dog odor and stains. I used this product in my carpet cleaning machine and I'm very happy with the results. This works great for removing pet stains and odors. It does have a fairly strong scent which I find pleasant, but if you are sensitive to fragrance do an extra pass over your floors with water only to help get out the residue.
