Not just a gimmick
My dog is an adorable maniac that finds a squeaker and wont stop squeaking. The squeaker in this toy just sounds like air escaping to me, but I know it must be a different noise to her. Squeak the squeaker once from the other side of the house and she come barreling toward it. This is my second time purchasing this 6 months later because the first one lost a couple appendages. The main body still remains intact and trust me that denotes quality when your dog thinks she's part goat.
