Awesome reel

I needed a multi purpose reel to use on the Chesapeake Bay for every season. I read the specs on the Warfare level wind and ordered one. This is one sweet reel. I've only fished it a couple times, but its so smooth and retrieves really well. The drag system is the best feature. It seems so much better than my other dozen Penn reels, and they are excellent. The Warfare is going to become my new favorite reel.

Perfect package

I am using these reels for inshore / offshore bottom fishing with great success. The ones I purchased have the line counter on them which aids in knowing when the baits are close to (not on) the bottom where I find most strikes occur. The line pick up to reel turn ratio is great too for those deeper drops where every turn of the reel is important when reeling up to re-bait or hauling a big one up from the depths!! The star drag is easy to adjust and overall reel size is just right for 6'-7' med heavy rods. I have only used these for a couple of weeks so the overall quality rating of excellent is based on out of the box performance. However they are well built so i would expect, with proper cleaning and maintenance, they will deliver long lasting use and reliability. Capt Dave Kerrigan - Ocean City Maryland
