First time out with these reels (I bought 2), I caught 9 walleye on the Columbia River. Never a doubt that these could handle the fish. Worked better than I had hoped. I'll buy these again when I need another low-profile reel.

Would expect reel to cost more!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had received the Silver Max for a Christmas present as a backup reel. Come to find out it's nicer than majority of my lews reels and now I'll invest more money into Abu Garcia reels. The drag system can handle 10-15 strikers no problem. I had a 9 pounder on and wanted to test the drag and locked it down and the fish couldn't take off and came right to the boat.
