I enjoy all the "no-no" spicy acidic foods that can trigger mouth sores, and I suffer the consequences with canker sores that come on like a raging fire. The last one I had was so incredibly painful because it was in an area on my tongue that rubs against my teeth when I talk. My husband had longed begged me to try Orajel but for whatever reason, I thought "No meds, I'll just get through it with warm water & salt." He finally had enough of my nonsense and just went and bought it. So for the record: I am DUMB because just a little dab of Orajel and I had instant relief. It was a Wow! moment. I bit my cheek and ended up with a mouth sore, but a friend recommended Orajel for quick relief. I felt a lot of the uncomfortable feeling go away pretty fast, and it really helped me stop worrying about the sore while it had time to heal. For the price, I'm really impressed at the quality, and no weird flavor either!
