I must say I truly loved Winning Miss Winthrop. This story is about Catherine Winthrop, Lavinia's friend from The Elusive Miss Ellison. I liked so much about this book that it's hard to pinpoint a few things to say about it. I want to tell everyone what a great story this is. Miss Winthrop is heartbroken over the loss of one Jonathan Carlew, a third cousin she loved and lost three years ago. Believing he didn't love her anymore after he left for the Indies, she mourned his leaving.
Jonathan Carlew returns from the Indies to claim his birthright after Catherine's father dies. Since he is her third cousin, he stands to inherit the title from her father and Catherine and her mother move to a small cottage on the estate and are given a small allowance to live on.
So much goes on that you just have to get a copy and read it to find out what separated these two three years ago. Will they find their way back to each other? Or will Jonathan seek another to be his bride? What of Catherine and her mother? Will they forever sit on the sidelines and watch Jonathan, the new Lord Winthrop, live life without them?
If you enjoy clean historical romances, you will love this one. Check it out and see for yourself. Carolyn Miller is a fabulous writer and really draws you into the story. Enjoy!
I received a complimentary copy from the author and the publisher, Kregel Publications, for an honest review. This is my honest opinion of this wonderful book.
