I wasn't sure I'd like these at first.

Even though the package says this is a soft white, it is more of a soft yellow. After years of daylight bulbs, which has more of a brighter blue light, this was an adjustment and at first I didn't know if I would like it or not. However, after a few days of adjustment, I really like it. I have daylight bulbs in my overhead light, but I have this in my reading light. Since this bulb gives off more of a soft glow, it seems easier on my eyes when I am reading, etc., and even watching t.v., and it doesn't reflect off the t.v. the way a brighter bulb would. However, don't get the wrong impression. These bulbs do not give off a dim light. I can still see clearly when I read, etc. without having to strain my eyes. One note, though. I would not use these bulbs in an overhead light unless you want more of a soft yellow glow as opposed to a clear white light.
