Very good game!
This was one of the very best games I have ever gotten for my kids. My son [11yrs old] loves it, he has informed me that it is very fun. But he also told me it is challenging. The game keep you on the edge of your seat for the ride of your life.
Almost as good as the X-box version
Mech Assault: Phantom War for the Nintendo DS feels and plays almost indentical to Mech Assault 2 Lone Wolf for the X-box console. It has good 3-D graphics considering it's on the Nintendo DS (which I like to think it's just a portable Nintendo 64 because of some of the games that have been re-relased from the 64) and also has an FMV (for those of you who do not understanding tech lingo FMV stands for full motion video) intro apart from spoken dialog which really draws into the game world. The game world is very alive and full of action while at times you will have to use strategy to get the upper hand on your enemies. In this game, like Mech Assault 2 Lone Wolf you can either pilot Mechs, Tanks or Armor Suits (Elemental Suits for all you Battletech fans) and like in Mech Assault 2 you can actually get out of your mech/vehicle and hijack another instantly ... just be aware that when your outside of your mech .. it's quite easy to be killed so be quick!. The only thing missing with this DS version of Mech Assault is the online gameplay that made the original Mech Assault popular on X-box live, but if you have friends with Mech Assault on the DS and are willing to be within 5-30 feet of each other ... you can play a direct link game. All in all Mech Assault Phantom War is definitely worth buying!
WORST Ds Title Ever
I have had this game for one day and i think that it is really bad on so many levels. the graphics are okay. but the length of the story is really short. wrap that up with horrible gameplay and replay value and you have one huge failure. i returned the game the next week
