AA+ quality akoya pearls have scratches you can see with naked eye at about 6 inches away. But the pearls are very round, and since no one will be inspecting my necklace at such a close distance for quality, this was the perfect fit for me. I chose the 20" for a longer length, goes well with many types of clothing.

These pearls arrived on or before the expected date. They were in a lovely box and looked beautiful. I have only worn them once, but I know I will get much use out of these pearls. I bought the larger size and gave up a little quality that I did not notice and I am happy with that trade off. They appraised as described and for more than I was expecting. I am thinking of buying a 24 inch to go with the 36 inch.
