These really do work to keep me warm in severe cold. I bought these a month earlier and had a chance to snow blow and shovel outside in 10 F weather with high wind (so low wind chill), and was very comfortable because of these (along with adequate covering of my face, head, and neck). Then mock neck helps to overlap with a scarf or balaclava to cover the neck. When I came in, I had to change out of my clothes because I was sweating (faster than these could wick it away). We have -5 F days coming up, and these sure will help when outside then. There are some that have fancy or confusing names. These are about as heavy duty as you can get without going to the insulated long underwear. Despite the sizing chart, I got the XL size. I don't want a skin-tight fit, but not loose, either, as you don't want the warmed air to get pushed away. They are very smooth feeling (not itchy). I now have 2 pair: the prior is gray (to pair with gray matching pants) and this one is blue (to pair with blue matching pants). Way better than the skiing long underwear that was skin tight with a "short" fit (the shirt wasn't very long, so it got pulled out of the outer pants to loose keeping my back warm).
