Bye-Bye Copper

I've used these several times to as a DIYer. Clean your copper and the adapter, use ample flux and get the joint hotter than normal. Never had a failure.

Cannot get solder to stick

I have had the same issue as many folks here. I had an issue with four of these where the solder would not stick. I am a homeowner but have done thousands of sweating copper pipes and never had an issue like this. The initial three I replaced with other ones and was able to complete. Last one just did yesterday wasting over two hours and a visit to HD was completed only by switching to the threaded SharkBite fitting to a copper threaded fitting that I was able to sweat in less than a minute. I am a bit concerned about the SharkBite fittings left that were soldered that they may start leaking one day, so will need to keep an eye or totally remove all of them.

No Good - Won't Solder

Similar to other reviewers here, I was unable to get solder to stick to these. Doesn't have anything to do with cleaning, prep, or materials (solder, flux, etc) as I used many other fittings in my system (with identical installation) and ONLY these gave me trouble. EVERYONE of these wouldn't work. Too bad. First Sharkbite product I've purchased which I'm not satisfied with. Interestingly enough, these have a larger ID than the other sweat fittings I purchased Most fittings have enough friction on the pipe to stay in place while you sweat them on. These things are just loose enough that they will slide off the pipe.
