Finally ... a boot that fits.

This is the first tall boot that I have been able to buy "off the shelf". First ... some confessions. The foot is too big because they don't come in my size (5). The ankles are large. But I don't care. That's why they make shoe fillers and insoles! What matters is that the shaft is simultaneously short enough and wide enough. (Bonus, I had to return the X-Wide as too large.) No break in to speak of. Comfortable and they will be even more so with a nice insole. I cannot speak to the durability complaints some other reviewers have had. But at this price point (versus ... say ... a custom boot), I would be hard pressed to imagine they will disappoint. Thank you Ovation and kudos to SmartPak for super fast delivery and service.

Great boots for wide calves

On the advisement of a friend, I purchased these boots (as I have wide calves), and found that they were a perfect fit for me. I had purchased another brand of wide calf boots, but was not pleased with their look or how they fit. With these, the leather is soft and supple with virtually no break-in period, and contrary to other reviews, the zippers in this pair of boots were not defective and work seamlessly. These boots are comfortable in/out of the saddle, and have a neat appearance. I just wish that the price point for these was a bit less.

felt great right out of the box

Bought these 3 months ago. The first pair was a little tight so I called Smart Pak and exchanged them for the next size The second pair was comfortable and good looking from day one.
