Ordered this for my recovery after my first child. They are very similar, a bit lighter and thinner, to the ones used by hospitals. They were very absorbent and didn't give me any skin irritation like some period pads. The two drawbacks to these were 1) I discovered I preferred the pad underwear as it was easier to deal with the first 2 weeks postpartum (having to stick a pad on just right on my underwear was too much while recovering) 2) they don't have wings so they do occasionally leak if you sleep on your side.
