Case protects the back and the edges. I'm still having issues getting a screen protector so I gave up. This does add some bulk but to me it's better than a slim case where the drop won't give me a heart ache.

Great protection for an expensive phone

I've tried a lot of cases for my phone that promise to be rugged and protect the phone and most have failed miserably. I was pleasantly surprised with the Onn rugged case. The edges around the screen are raised protecting the screen, the edges around the camera lenses are also raised so if you put the phone down on its back you're definitely not going to scratch the lenses. The case is heavier than normal, but it feels solid, has an inner rubber layer and an outer hard shell. I haven't dropped the phone but I feel that the phone will be adequately protected. I really like the phone charger protection offered by the case. The buttons are easy to press through the case.
