Boye Crochet Tool 4-in-1 EGIK

When I saw this for sale at my local Walmart, I thought it was so ingenious, I HAD to have it. I always have yarn and a hook with me. Why not have a SET of hooks! I planned to keep it in the car in case of a "hook emergency". I was thrilled when I received it as a Christmas gift. I finally used it a couple of days ago and it was broken within minutes. When you open the hooks, there is just a little piece of plastic that keeps it from opening too far. It is supposed to stop the hook at the fully open position. I used one of the hooks for just a few minutes and it pushed past (and apparently broke off) that little piece of plastic so the hook moves all the way around to the other side. There is no way to "lock" the hooks in place when they are open, just the plastic that is supposed to stop them from rotating past the open position. When I was using it, the hook would move so I had to keep my finger on it so it would stay open. This would have been a great tool if it wasn't plastic and had been designed better.
