Burns well and is a welcome addition to our cabin in the mountains of Vermont. From the pictures posted it looks like the little round holes on top are removable like the old stoves of which this is a replica. They are not removable. They are just for show. Also, the handle on the door is weird. It is in two parts. The spiral protection part is separate from the latch part. Goofy design but it probably has to do with some government regulations. Overall it was a good deal for the price.

900sq ft max

Meh, I have to keep her rip roaring to keep in the burn zone. 2x4's would be ideal but they don't grow on trees, uhh wait, I guess they do, but you get the idea. Also the after burner vent pipes take up alot of room in the Firefox, you can get a 19" 2x4 in there if you squeeze in along the side, but not a log. I installed it in a drafty barn and even with single wall it does not provide enough heat to speak of. So... a 900sq ft home with good insulation, yeah ok, but nothing much bigger. Be prepared to have to cut everything down to fit. I have cooked bacon on it a couple of times and you really have to watch her to keep the heat constant. I was here today looking to see if I could get and adjustable intake to replace the fixed one on the door.

Works but stripped handle bolt

Had this for about a month and now that its getting cold enough to use we noticed the door doest quite seal all the way. Looked at it and the catch was a bit loose, tried to tighten the nut up and it just spins. Threads are stripped, can not tighten or loosen any to get the nut off and repair, might have to cut it off all together and figure something else out.
