I have the bigger version for growing garden seedlings; I got this version to sit on my desk at work. It's a bit of spring here in cube-land! The only downside is that the wicking reservoir and fabric get a bit grungy and attract gnats. What I've done instead is to put plants in small decorative pots and not really use the wicking reservoir. If I were using this at home to grow herbs indoors, I wouldn't worry about that, and I'd use the wicking feature (which is the best self-watering system I've ever owned).

It seems to be sturdy and the light is easily adjusted

I looked at instructions and asked my hubby to put it together - it took him much more then 30 minutes... in fact I went to bed and left him up working on it. My hubby is so sweet ! I am looking forward to starting my tomato seeds in it for my summer garden. I might try growing some lettuce in it now though.

Set this up in my garage on a table by a window with my other seedlings. It's small, OK. But I still didn't want it on my kitchen counter. Works perfectly fine in the garage although I think I'll step it up next year with a bigger unit. My seeds sprouted and are in the ground! (lettuce, sunflowers, black eyed susans and shasta daisies)
