NutriChef PKSJ30 - Kitchen Countertop Masticating Slow Juicer

Stay away from this juicer. The point of getting a masticating, low-speed juicer is that they can extract more juice from whatever fruit or vegetable you are juicing. That is especially true of leafy vegetables - spinach, kale, parsley. The way that you can tell that the juicer is doing what you want it to is that the pulp that remains is drier than that left by a centrifugal juicer, since those do a notoriously poor job on soft or leafy vegetables and fruits. This model left pulp that was as wet as that left from my centrifugal juicer. The problem is that the masticating action is very weak - a factor of an anemic, 80-watt motor. That was true, even though I cut everything into small pieces, instead of feeding them in whole, as I can with my Breville centrifugal. That meant that the juicing process lasted at least three times longer. I suppose that I might have gotten a small amount more juice than I would have using my other juicer. I used an orange, three small apples, eight small and medium carrots, a handful of spinach leaves, three stalks of celery and a medium-sized cucumber for a yield of about 900 ml - just under a liter. I am going to run the same combination through my Breville tomorrow, just to see, although even that is not going to be definitive - the one I used today left a lot more pulp in the juice - enough to make a difference in the volume. Clean-up is a chore, too, and it is not easy to clean it thoroughly. The only real advantage is the low price, but even that is probably illusory, because I seriously doubt the longevity of this machine. For about double the money, you can get a factory-refurbished dual-action Omega or Breville juicer that both masticates and cold-presses the pulp, has a more powerful motor and, I suspect, a much greater life expectancy. I will be returning this.

This thing is so slow, you could grow an apple tree faster. and I cant belive as big as the drive motor is it will not do nuts. also the motor stops every 15 min.s.
