A Dual voice coil subwoofer provides more wiring configuration possibilities. Ifyou add additional subwoofers, wiring configurations can be easily matched tooptimize the amps power output. Power handling is also increased. Dual voicecoil subwoofers are ideal for medium to high-power applications.
Ported Enclosure
This subwoofer will thrive in well in a ported enclosure. A ported enclosure iseasy to spot because of the vent (port). This enclosure will be bigger than asealed enclosure and it also has greater SPL output, resulting in chest-thumpingbass with authority. For proper tuning and optimum subwoofer performance in aported enclosure, we recommend using an amplifier with a subsonic filter.
Sealed Enclosure
This subwoofer will operate well in a sealed enclosure that will yield solid,tight bass. You can either purchase a pre-fabricated enclosure or build one tosuit your installation needs. Sealed enclosures are relatively easy to build andare the smallest enclosure the subwoofer is designed for.

AllRockville enclosures come with a customized enhanced glue that is unmatched byany other manufacturer. That means that the carpet will stay in place and notrip or tear. The ¾” USA MDF is much stronger then any type of import wood. Thiswill keep your box performing at an optimal level by not flexing and distortingyour woofers. Your woofers will thank you! EVERY Rockville enclosure is not onlyglued at all joints but stapled as well. If that wasn’t enough we add a layer ofsilicon to every seam! This makes your Rockville enclosure rock even more!
