A must read to understand Europe 1945

TJ from California writes: This is a stunning yet difficult WW II book. The difficulty comes from the story, told without equivocation and in the first person, of the horrors found behind the front lines in Europe 1945. This one resource should dispel contemporary allusions to "fascism" - since the real deal has no comparison. This book shall forever illuminate the facts of Communist Russia's oppressive underpinnings, and unfortunately underscore the duty- shirking characteristic of even America's best government leaders and organizations. But this book offers a shining example of how America does do right - it does right on the personal initiative of the honorable. It is a must read for those who want to understand the apocalyptic injury this war, and the Soviet conquest, was to the humanity of central Europe. An in contemplation after reading the book, one may find good reason not to flirt with the bad organizational ideas still brewing on that continent.
