Its creator, the crafty and resourceful Marius Lesoeur, a former stallholder, set up a singular catalog in the French cinema world, from sexy crime films to westerns, from horror films to exotic films and war films, shooting with his family and not hesitating to recycle old films to put new ones together. All his funfair smooth talk skills were in the service of a film shooting economy which inevitably led him to transform his small country house into a studio, which welcomed international film stars such as Christopher Lee. Only a director as inventive as Jesús Franco ("The Awful Doctor Orlof") was able to take advantage of the extreme Eurocin film shooting conditions. Christophe Bier, a specialist of genre films and scholar of marginal films, also a journalist for the French radio program "Mauvais Genre" (France Culture) and the magazine "Mad Movies", takes an amused but kind look on this disconcerting and unique firm. He tells the family story and reveals the trade secrets of the "Studios Eurocin ". Daniel Lesoeur, Monica Swinn, Roger Darton, Jean-Pierre Bouyxou, Alain Deruelle, Gilbert Roussel, Patrice Rhomm are also interviewed. ...A French Exploitation Cinema ( Eurocin 33 Champs-Ãlys es ) ( The Strange World Of French Exploitation Cinema )
