GE TIMER KNOB, WE1M652
JUST WHAT THE DOCTOR ORDERED FOR MY HOTPOINT DRYER... IF YOUR DRYER DOESNT OPERATE WHEN YOU SET THE TIMER KNOB AND PRESS THE START BUTTON, TRY THIS REMEDY BEFORE MAKING AN EXPENSIVE REPAIR APPOINTMENT... I PULLED THE OLD KNOB OFF THE SPINDLE, AND, YES, THERE WAS A HAIRLINE CRACK IN THE SHAFT (ON THE BACKSIDE OF THE KNOB)---IT CAUSED THE KNOB TO ONLY SLIDE AROUND THE METAL SPINDLE, INSTEAD OF ACTUALLY GRIPPING AND TURNING THE SPINDLE... I USED PLIERS TO TURN IT UNTIL I RECEIVED THE NEW KNOB :)
