It has also focused on the various articles of Indian Constitution which everyone should be aware of to obey and not to break at any cost to maintain integrity among the people of India with a diversified nature. The main objective of the present study is to find out the extent of Human Rights Awareness found amount high school students and its relationship with their Academic Achievement and Values. Though there has been considerable progress in the field of educational research since Independence, "Human rights" is an area which has not been paid much attention by the educational researchers in our country. However, the subject is included in the school curriculum as part of Social Science. It is agreed by all that curriculum development is a continuous process and there shall be period revision of school curricula in keeping with social changes and consequent changes in the aims of education. It is necessary to study the needs of society and students. This study is an attempt to find out the extent of Human Rights Awareness found among the present-day high school students and how such awareness is related to their Academic Achievement and Values. This correlation study may throw some light on whether students really realize the importance of Human Rights or they study it only for the purpose of scoring well in their examinations. The importance of value education is nowadays quite rightly stressed and it is important to know which values are important from the point of view of promoting awareness of Human Rights among the High School Students. It is with these purposes in mind the investigator has undertaken this study. The author being a Professor of Education with History background has exploited all his knowledge, skills and vast experience in teaching students of various level.
