Smells fishy

I purchased the Wildroot for my 90 year old father. I remember him using it throughout the years and the distinct, pleasant smell. I have purchased this product for him 3 times within the last year and was happy with the first two bottles. I received my 3rd bottle yesterday, opened and smelled it and was disgusted. It smells like dead fish. I don't know what the problem is with this bottle, however, it was not sealed in any manner. Could it have been tampered with, is it outdated? I don't know, but something is wrong!
