We needed something that would allow two beds in the same room to be able to have some privacy. I spent days looking at the room dividers before purchasing this one. It seemed to offer the best height and width for the price - which it has accomplished.
I really wanted it to work.
My concern is the type of material used.
The unspecified "natural fiber" almost feels like dried, hardened corn shucks. I know it's not, corn shucks aren't that long. But it feels flimsy like that. I was expecting it to be strips of a wood type material, or maybe even bamboo. Not something that feels like dried, flattened corn husks.
And while lightweight is a plus - longevity of the piece of furniture is as well, and I don't know that this piece will last very long being made of this unknown material - material that they don't name. It also feels flimsy.
Therefore, we might have to return this divider and get a canvas type. Those are made with a known material. If they rip, I think it could be repaired. If THIS one were to get poked or dented I don't know that it could be repaired easily.
And I REALLY wanted to like it. My long term illness is causing me to have erratic sleeping patterns - which is keeping my mate awake. I sincerely thought that this piece could help give him some much needed rest by blocking my end table light.
I recommend it - ONLY with the reservations I've mentioned noted.
Oh, and take heed: it definitely wouldn't last long around cats or children.
