Poly-Fil® 6Mm Spandex Braided Elastic 20 Yards

This braided elastic is 20 yards long and 1/4" wide. It is 70% nylon and 30% spandex. According to the packaging: It is machine washable and dryable up to 200 degree temperatures, dry cleanable, and chlorine bleach safe. It is useful in making new clothing, and craft, items, and for replacing the old, worn out elastic, in things such as waistbands and sleeve cuffs, I also, got it, to alter my face masks, during the pandemic. My face mask fits my face well, but, as pictured, with this review, the ear loops of the face mask are not long enough, for me, so they pop off my ears, while I'm wearing my mask, causing it to fall off my face, exposing me to the very air that it is protecting me from. This is a safety hazard, which this elastic can fix, for me; which is very important! I plan to add a couple of inches of the braided elastic between the face mask, and where the ear loop had connected to it, right behind my ears. That will give it enough stretch to be able to get it on, but with a better fit, for me. I think that this is a very good quality elastic, that should also suit your own purposes, for it, for a long time; standing up well to the demands placed on it.

I bought this elastic 'ribbon' specifically to mend my swim suits. I swim one to two miles a day, six days a week so it doesn't take long for the elastic in my two-iece swim suits to stretch out because of the heavy chlorine impact. This is the perfect width and there's more than enough length to fix all three swim suits I rotate for my daily water exercise. The only thing that surprised me was that the elastic roll came in a small plastic bag that could easily have been shpped inside a small padded envelope but for some reason was put into a fairly large cardboard box for shipping. I don't know if it was the seller or the shipper who did that, but it was definitely overkill and probably overpriced as well. I think the seller, if s/he packed the product inhouse should retrain whoever did the packing. It was a waste of a cardboard box. But overall the product is good. It certainly repaired my swim suits that now are as 'good as new'.
