Country Hit Parade: Outlaw Prison - Most Wanted Hits

This brief set of country jailhouse tunes would be a nifty little compilation if the versions were the original ones, but unfortunately these songs have been re-recorded to stereo, which tends to flatten the sound of the original mono versions, robbing these songs of a certain intangible presence and punch. What is here sounds pleasant enough, but should a set of songs about being thrown in prison really sound pleasant? ~ Steve Leggett, All Music Guide
