The cling looks like the stock pictures that are shown. When the sun hits the cling it does give a rainbow effect. From afar objects are diffused, but up close because of the pattern/textures, things are visible. The film has a good thickness so it is easier to handle. An easier way to separate the cling from its backer is to use two pieces of tape on opposite sides of a corner to pull them apart. Soapy water makes the application simple; push the bubbles out as you go. We've had it up a few weeks now and it has stayed in place.

I purchased this when I lived in Florida for a huge picture window with a glass dome. I covered that part of the window. When the sunlight came through, its presence was like rainbow prisms. Was so pretty. It blocked out the direction sunlight there as well.
