When the area becomes choked with soil and debris, it's time to remove and clean or replace the ground cover.

NOTE:
Simply cover the entire bed with a fabric weed barrier and hold it down with staples to the wind. Then cut slits into the material for cultivated plants. It's easy and you don't have to be an expert.
In order to prevent it from coming apart when you cut to length with shears or scissors. We have a suggestion burn a hole in the weed membrane with a candle for easy planting.
