Hoping for another 25 years

Fingers crossed that it lasts 25 years like the one it replaced. The cutout in 3 different places (online, side of the box, installation instructions) were a little bit different. I ended up using the dimensions from installation instructions and had to increase the height of the opening about 3/8 of an inch and it slid right in.

Convection Feature Works

My recent purchase of GE Model JK5500SFSS (27 in) was my first for a convection oven. My wife tried a test to confirm the convection feature. She placed cookies on shelves 2 and 4 and set it for Traditional Bake. Now, I realize multiple shelve cooking is not recommended for Traditional Bake. The results were the cookies on shelf 2 were brown on the bottom and fully baked. The cookies on shelf 4 were not brown on the bottom and the dough was not fully baked. They had to be put back into the oven to finish baking. Next, cookie sheets were placed on shelves 1, 3 and 5 and set for Convection Bake Multi Rack. The results were all the cookies were cooked evenly and had equal color brown for all sheets. So, for this one test the convection feature seem t o work and demonstrated that convection heating for multiple shelve baking did work well. Although it was difficult to tell, the doneness of the cookies might have been improved if we had allowed a little more time to bake. This comment is also mentioned by GE for multiple shelve baking. Finally, I have read reports of excessive fan noise for some manufacturers. For this oven the fan noise is quiet and not an issue.

Pleased with Purchase

Purchased as replacement just ahead of Christmas season.  Installation went well.  Fit and finish are excellent.  Used extensively over holidays for roasts, cookies, proofing and baking breads and warming.  Convection upper works well, and though I am new to convection cooking, the learning process went smoothly.  Fan sound is low and very acceptable.  Pre-heating time is very acceptable.  Have not tried cleaning features, and never have seen a point to delayed start timers, so that feature is also untested.  Racks move very well in comparison to very old unit that was replaced.
