I don't know what this "thing" is, but I can tell you with 100% certainty that it is not a swimsuit. I opened the package expecting "beach ready," but instead, I found a bodysuit that looks like it was engineered by someone who has never seen a body of water—or an actual human body. It has snaps at the crotch. Snaps! Unless I'm planning on doing a quick diaper change mid-butterfly stroke, I don't see how this is functional for any activity involving a pool. The material is so flimsy and paper-thin that calling it "fabric" feels like a generous legal stretch. Zero lining, zero lift, zero support. I wouldn't even wear this as an undershirt because I'm pretty sure a stiff breeze or a slightly judgmental look would cause it to disintegrate instantly. If I wore this into the ocean, I'd go in with a "swimsuit" and come out with nothing but a few loose threads and a very awkward story for the lifeguard. Save your money—this isn't swimwear, it's a high-stakes wardrobe malfunction waiting to happen.
