It was very easy to "mount" the piece unto the wall. The product comes with a very useful handbook that tells you exactly how to hang the base. Each piece requires only three items: the base, the Command strip that sticks the base to the wall, and the front which is the design piece. However, there is also another piece called the riser that is extra if you want that tile to extend out a little bit more to the front. The base has an indicator that tells you whether or not the piece is centered, which is very neat so it gets hung straight on the first try. The handbook also tells you how to remove the base and it is by simply pulling the Command strip down. Also, it provides you a little bio on the artists who came up with the designs for the front. It's nice because it adds a little personal touch.
So, for the front, I have three pieces: a patterned chalkboard, and two photo frames. The handbook provides some information on how to maintain and clean these tiles. I wrote on the chalkboard one with my own chalk and I was able to wipe it off very cleanly without much effort. I enjoy this one a lot because I like creating lists (dinner menus, to do list, and etc) and I can place this tile anywhere! It's a great product for someone who likes to put things up the wall but does not want it to be permanent. For the photo frame tile, the rectangular area that displays the photo is bigger than your standard 4 x 6 size photos. It leaves an evenly spaced border around your photo, so it is probably a 5 x 7, but not sure. This tile came with a plastic layer to be peeled off at the front to keep it completely new, which I appreciate since dust can get on it.
Overall, I enjoy these tiles a lot because you can explore with them so much and be creative. It's a brilliant design with just simple sticky strips and magnets!
