I bought this resin to soften the water I use in my ultrasonic humidifier which I use in my house. I place some of the resin into a fine nylon mesh strainer and then pour regular tap water through it as it collects into a pitcher. I end up with water that has nearly no minerals so the humidifier will not produce the dreaded white dust. It's perfect for that and I will buy this resin again. Outstanding value. No need to buy demineralization cartridges any longer.
