Being a writer, who sits in front of a computer screen upwards of 6 hours a day, I needed a basic, sturdy laptop that could leave my writing space every now and then without too much trouble. No games, not much streaming. Mostly word processing and online research. My little laptop caused so much eyestrain, I had to close one eye to focus. Now I can split screens and write, scroll through archives online or in a file, and not waste time when working on a project. The screen is easy to read, and the backlit keys are great in the early morning or evening hours when the lighting in the room is tiring. The unit is a bit heavy, so carrying it around everywhere I go could be cumbersome; because I have to stay home 99% of the time, I decided on this model. Best decision! I was willing to work the keyboard to death because it was such a bargain, but not now! I have a hub so I can use this laptop with different keyboards, speakers, lighting, and podcasting equipment. I can use it with hovercams, etc., and the built-in DVD player is a bonus. I really do love this laptop and would recommend it as a writer's power tool or a family workstation that,will,not be used for gaming. (This is not a gaming unit, and there are lots of YouTube channels that point that out.)

Love the big screen and ease of use of it. Only issue I can see is the keys are silver and the letters are white. When your in a bright light its hard to see the letters on the keys. Wouldn't be a problem if I knew how to type.
