Look no Further

My gateway Tulip hook was a 3.50 mm and the day I used that hook I forsook all other hooks. I immediately bought this steel hook set and was as equally happy as I was with the 3.50. These hooks glide through yarn. Prior to getting these I was a sworn true blue Susan Bates inline hook user. Tulip hooks converted me to tapered. I still go back to the inline when I have splitty yarn - they grab the yarn better. For all other yarns, though, Tulip all the way. The handle was something I didn't think I'd care about, but it ended up being my favorite feature. The thumb notch is in a great position and the handle itself is smooth but grips. That means my fingers don't get sore from a textured grip, and I can keep a good hold on the hook. The scissors are Sharp - they cut cleanly through yarn and thread. The ruler I could live without as I have numerous tape measures, but it has been used in a pinch. The darning needles were appreciated, and it all fits neatly in their case. I've traveled with them and the case ended up being a tidy solution to crocheting on a cramped plane. If you're uncertain whether this is the hook for you, buy one in your favorite size and give it a try. The cost was prohibitive to me, but after using that first hook, and doing some basic math, the cost is quite reasonable for high quality hooks.
