The parts warranty continues for the length of the commitment of the original service plan used to activate the DVR.

Better price than buying from Tivo
This is the same device you would buy from Tivo at $149.00. The only difference is you have to register with Tivo and it takes up to 24 hours to get working. Delivery isn't as fast as Tivo, but if you can live with the delays, the difference in price is worth it.
