Works; Could Use Better Hardware

It works. However, the flat washer is not thick enough; getting the bung tight enough to expand and positively bite the inner tank wall caused the flat washer to collapse inward and crimped the threads, making it difficult to install the -AN fitting. Also, the rubber seal is too pliable, causing it to bulge out, necessitating a coating of sealer to prevent possible leaks. Recommendations for improvement: (1) The flat washer used to crimp needs to be substantially thicker and stronger. (2) The seal either needs to be a Dowty washer instead of a plain rubber gasket, or somewhat stiffer.

Weld a bung on instead.

I asked their customer support team member about location of installation on this product. He assured me that installing it below the fuel level was completely acceptable and it wouldn't leak. After putting several gallons in the tank and it sitting overnight, my shop smells like fuel and the fitting is leaking around the seal. Only install this above the fuel line.
