Daiwa Beefstick Surf Conv Rod 2 Piece 10Ft Medium Heavy

I bought this pole to fish off the beach in the OBX. I used6 oz weight and the rod casted well. I think it may handle up to 10oz on the cast but thats just a guess. (Over 10 and you probably need something a little more heavy duty) Nice rod though for the price point. Well made and I expect it should last awhile. Ill probably get another for next year. I matched it with a 4000 series shimano reel I had on hand, and 40 braided line. I caught a drum albeit a small one, so the rod works. The rod is heavy but my 5 year old grandson could pick it up and struggled to use it. He will have no problem with it in a couple of years.
