One Month Review

Apartment use generally restricts my sound level to "reasonable". That's my profile, and I say this system is a perfectly fine solution. I am used to great stereo, so I'm bringing a qualified assessment. I am very happy with the purchase, the price, and the performance. In fact, I replaced a Bose 700 Soundbar instead of expanding the Bose equipment. Sold it for more than the Monoprice system cost!

Enjoy this sound bar for what it is - a 0sound bar

I used to own a custom A/V store and always had to have the latest and greatest in home theater but that was 25 years ago. I'm now 63 years old, living in Calufornia, don't have a dedicated home theater and don't watch TV like I used to. I was going to go with the top-of-line Denon Atmos receiver, all separate speakers & subs but we just moved into a historic home and cutting into the plastered walls doesn't make sense so I thought I'd go with the Samsung HQ950. The SB600 went on sale for $230 just as I was ready to order and I decided to give it try. It took minutes to hook it up to my 85" TV and BluRay player and the sound was definitely good enough. I honestly don't think I'd be much happier with the $1700 Samsung because after all the marketing hype, even the most expensive sound bar is still just a sound bar. I have a pair of 800 series B&W in my music room but have spent quite a bit of time listening to music, watching music videos and concert videos through this sound bar. It easily fills my 20'x16' TV room with the bass set flat, the rear on +2 and overall volume only on 10 (max is 32). I don't see myself replacing this sound bar anytime soon and if I do, it wouldn't be for another sound bar.

Great for Atmos on a budget

Can't get Dolby Atmos with surround and up firing speakers. I would recommend if you want some Atoms effect on a budget and for small rooms. 10” bass would be perfect but your are paying less then 250
