Obtain the manual off the internet and follow those directions! MUST turn the volume on the headset OFF for it to charge. Infrared signal must not be blocked in any way. We had to purchase a digital audio splitter as the sound system was already plugged into the outlet. Overall the headset is wonderful for those who need it and those who can now listen to the TV at a normal level! I do recommend this product.

This is my 3rd set in 10 years. So easy to connect to TV and great sound. Changing the batteries can easily mess up the ear extensions. Be careful.
