Not happy!My jeweler says the clasp gold filled!!

This a beautiful chain. My problem after wearing a few times the lobster claw clasp came loose from the o-ring. Once this happened I had to take it to my local jeweler to make this simple repair. I was completely surprised to learn that the O-ring and the lobster claw clasp are gold plated. That is why the old ring was not soldered closed. The necklace itself is 14 karat gold. If I could return this I would for the simple fact that the closure of the necklace should also be 14k.
