Good for you even if not the best

There is no dispute that fish oil, specifically omega-3, provides many benefits to your health. The main point of this book is that oil made from krill is the best. Arguments are made for each of the many claims of specific medical ailments that are helped by the consumption of fish oil, all are supported by references from reputable medical journals. Points are made regarding potential problems, specifically the danger of mercury in the sea creatures from which fish oil is made. This is a legitimate point, although the fish oil that I take has been processed to remove the mercury. The book is very thorough, explaining the role of fats in human health, and what is considered the “bad” versus the “good” fat. There is some technical content, but nothing that the determined reader will be unable to understand. Plausible arguments are then made for the position that fish oil will improve the condition of people suffering from many illnesses. This reaches the point where it is very close to sounding like a testimonial for a “miracle cure.” Some may argue that it goes a bit beyond that line. In any case, the arguments are overwhelming that fish oil is a supplement that most people should be taking. Making the only real point of dispute regarding this book is whether krill oil is that much better than standard fish oil supplements.
