I wanted socks that would cover my ankles for hiking through prickly weeds in the summer. These are on the thin side with elastic tops so I imagine they will be comfortable in warm weather and stay put. Guess I didn't read the description fully because I was surprised that three were plain grey but three had colorful bottoms. However, they are pretty and the colors don't show above my shoes. Have only washed them once, but they seem sturdy enough to last.
