I feel that the stuffing in the pillow is hard but that eventually it will soften and be cozy - I would rather it be too much stuffing and I smooth it out to how I like it than it be too little and it not give any support. It stand up by itself, which I really like. I am 5-8 and I use it in bed while I read, so it is perfect, I also tried in on the couch to give extra support and it worked fine. I think it is a great find and I highly recommend it.
