Exciting start to a new series.

One of my very favorite suspense authors, Lynette Eason has started an incredible new series: Danger Never Sleeps. The content of Collateral Damage is quite current and full of excitement, intrigue and heroes to be envied. The series tells about a team of friends and acquaintances who are brought together by various crimes. This book focuses on former Army members Asher James, now an FBI agent and Brooke Adams, now a psychiatrist in private practice. The book starts out with a scene of how they are connected and proceeds with a new connection after they have left the military behind. As always, Ms. Eason's research is impeccable and the story comes together after she has you wrapped up in the circumstances, wondering how such things could happen. A thoroughly enjoyable start to a new series that promises more romance and danger around every corner. While the focus is on crimes and suspense, Ms. Eason threads faith into the story and shows how her characters rely on God in their trying times. *A copy of this book was provided by the Revell through Interviews and Reviews. I was not required to give a favorable review. All opinions are my own.*

Exciting Adventure

I liked the theme of the book how the author explored military personnel and the repercussions war has on them. It was nice to read about PTSD in a realistic way and show how hard it is to overcome this illness. The title is perfect for this story and was intriguing to read. Two peoples lives collide in this action packed story as a dead body turns up and danger follows. The two main characters work well together and I liked how they each had a past that was similar. It is a fast paced story that looks at the military and delivers an edge of your seat thrilling book with danger, adventure and a bit of romance. This is one book you don't want to miss. I received a copy of this book from Librarything Early Readers Program. The review is my own opinion.

Great Series Beginning!

Suspected treachery. An ambush of Army troops. An explosion in a cafe. Collateral Damage begins with danger and excitement and these two elements continue throughout the book. Asher James and Brooke Adams both face near death during their Army service in Afghanistan but their individual returns to civilian life don't prove to be any safer. Brooke sets up private practice as a psychiatrist but soon becomes a target and it is former Army Sergent James who becomes involved in her protection. Asher is now a FBI agent and he and Brooke feverishly race to learn who is trying to harm her. Is there a cover-up involving incidents from their Army service? Were secrets really sold to jihadists and if so, was an innocent soldier labeled a traitor? Is it possible that there is something much more sinister that someone is hiding? Something worth killing for? This is the first book of a new series from Lynette Eason and she definitely grabbed my attention with her depiction of the ugliness of war and its aftermaths. Collateral Damage has villians, intrigue, and unthinkable acts caused by greed but Eason also adds heroes, faith, and the Christian values that our country was built on. Reading this book increased my pulse rate and caused me to lose sleep but it was definitely worth these side effects! This is romantic suspense at its best and I truly enjoyed Collateral Damage. I'm looking forward to the next book in the Danger Never Sleeps series. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Revell but I was under no obligation to leave a positive review. These are my own thoughts.
