“The God who gave each heart a beat, somehow he always knew the world needed a special gift, sweet child – he made you too!” Chelsea Tornetto ends her children's book, God Made You Too.
~ What ~
This thirty-two page-page hardbound targets children ages four to seven-years-old. With no scary scenes, it contains how the same God who created the universe and all that is in it also created us. Colorful, engaging, and fun illustrations cover both sides of the pages with an easy-to-read font size.
This short read for kids reminds them how the Almighty not only created our amazing world, the deep blue sea, the beauty of the land, the interesting animals, and the four seasons, but He also made each of us differently and specifically.
~Why ~
This is a lovely rhyming book that kids can enjoy looking at the expressive, detailed artwork while recalling that God made everything around us. I appreciate how often the writer states “and so he made YOU too!” Including a Bible verse at the end is enduring.
~ Why Not ~
Those who do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ may not like a book that talks about God making all things, especially if they believe in evolution. There are a few two- and three-syllable words beginner readers may have trouble pronouncing.
~ Wish ~
I wish all pronouns of God were capitalized for reverence. The book could be targeted toward toddlers too.
~ Want ~
If you are looking for a cute book that teaches how God made everything including precious young readers, this would be a nice bedtime read.
Thanks to Hachette Book Group, WorthyKids, and the author for this complimentary book that I am under no obligation to review.
