Incorrect gasket. Extreme leaking.

Purchased this unit for my 77 F-150 with dual tank option, midship tank replacements are few and far between for these trucks. While this was a great price, the gasket was incorrect and I had not noticed any issue during installation, gasket did not move, and was seated in the fuel tank groove. As I'm filling up my truck at the station, I look underneath and see a river of fuel pouring from my truck. Gathered as much as I could, huge mess, and loss of money. Sending unit itself is great, locking ring and the incorrect gasket are not. Was very frustrated. Reinstalled with old gasket and is holding tight. Comparing them, the new one is obviously much larger in diameter causing the issue. But for similar units costing $90 without the locking ring and gasket I guess you get what you pay for. Hopefully the sending unit lasts. Next time I will ensure the gasket is correct before blindly trusting it.
