The 1.5-inch Bunkie Board , Split Bunkie Board provides a surface foundation for any platform beds, bunks and daybeds. It adds support to the mattress and will keep mattress stay in good shape thus extending the life of your mattress. It will give a firm bottom support for the mattress and raises the mattress up for about 1.5 inches. When a mattress is placed directly on slats or metal spring, the mattress will have the tendency to rip or sink. These can be avoided with the use of a Bunkie board. Using a Bunkie board doubles the mattress' life expectancy. This Bunkie board is a good alternative in lieu of a box spring that may be too high for day beds. If you have a platform bed with a memory foam mattress (and a box spring is too big) then look no further! My mattress doesn't sink between the slats anymore and I sleep so much better. It levels everything out with about 2inch extra height (rather than a huge box spring). Can't recommend this enough!

Good product, horrible delivery
Ordered this to be placed under a new hybrid mattress going onto a platform bed. Wasn't happy with delivery since box was thrown on lawn and got torn open. Unfortunately we didn't realize until 10 days later when needing it, that the bunkie board itself had a hole in it. We used it anyway since we had no choice by then.

Bunkie boards works great on my 18 inch metal bed frame i also got from walmart. I had slats i got from walmart and it slides over metal bed frame out of place but kepted it for back up since i got bunkie boards. I got it because my metal bedframe and layla bybrid mattress is already high enough but the new bunkie boards of 1.5 inch thick works to the right level in height to 32.5 inch from floor! I needed the bunkie boards and slats also because the metal bed frame will tear my layla hybrid mattress!
