Incredible

For the past 3yrs, I've used only a ferro rod to start a fire with tinder such as Vaseline cotton balls, dry grass, dried pine needles and so on. Last summer my daughter bought some of these for me. While I was camping I figured I'd try one, I thought "what could it hurt" Much to my SURPRISE the thing ignited IMMEDIATELY and burned PLENTY long enough to get my upside down fire going. I highly recommend this product.

Misleading product picture

I've been trying different fire starter fuels/implements because I camp/hunt/hike a lot, and sometimes weather isn't feasible for starting fires. I thought I was getting a box of these fire starter pucks but only got 1. Yes, my bad for not reading deeper but I wouldn't have paid almost $7 for a single use. Beyond that the product itself performed very well. It didn't take much to get it lit and it burned long enough to get the larger wood around it burning. I wouldn't pay $7 for this item though, maybe $1-2 at most. If the whole box of pucks was for $7 I'd stock all my backpacks and camping gear with them.

old stock or too little wax content

this is wood chips mixed with wax. when I opened the package it states it can be broken down for multi uses, but fell apart into saw dust. I had to mix with melted wax and reform to work and not fall apart in my fire kit
